ARTISTI presently distributes three types of royalties on the behalf of performers it represents in Canada and elsewhere in the world.
To be eligible for royalties, you must first have taken part in an admissible sound recording and meet other conditions.
The sound recordings in which you have participated may be eligible for various royalty regimes.
The collection of royalties is carried out by Ré:sonne (a music licensing company formerly the Neighbouring Rights Collective of Canada), by the Canadian Private Copying Collective or directly by ARTISTI.
ARTISTI distributes collected royalties two times a year, and may also make additional distributions at other times if it receives large sums from abroad.
The Copyright Board of Canada is a federal economic regulatory body which works in the field of copyrights. It also holds hearings to certify tariffs or to renew expired tariffs.
